Waldorf Marketplace Celebrates Grand Opening

Waldorf, MD - March 10, 2005 - Faison's Northeast Retail Development team celebrated the Grand Opening of Waldorf Marketplace located on Western Parkway and Berry Road in Charles County, Waldorf, Maryland. The community center's grocery anchor Safeway opened its doors on March 1st for a pre-Grand Opening kick-off event inviting the citizens of Waldorf and Charles County to preview their new 58,000 square foot grocery store.

The 210,000 square foot Waldorf Marketplace is anchored by A.C. Moore, Petco, and Office Depot, with Red Robin, Chevy Chase Bank and Wachovia featured in free-standing outparcels. Additional specialty retail space currently under construction includes two buildings along Berry Road which will house Jared's, Jos. A. Bank, Kirkland's and Chico's. At the corner of Western Parkway and Berry Road will be Hollywood Video, Palm Beach Tan, 2nd Swing Golf, Weichert Realtors, and Quiznos'. Famous Dave's is set to break ground in third quarter 2005 at the Western Parkway entrance to the center. Other specialty store tenants include Electronics Boutique, T-Mobile, Five Below, Official Cleaners, Hair Cuttery, Escape Nails and Day Spa, Waldorf Wine & Spirits, California Tortilla, Cold Stone Creamery, Starbucks Coffee, Noodles & Co., and Three Brothers Italian Restaurant.

Also incorporated within the development is the Capital Clubhouse, a 90,000 square foot year-round sports center featuring ice hockey and skating, soccer, volleyball, in-line hockey, box lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, basketball and rock climbing. Capital Clubhouse is separately owned by a public/private venture between Charles County and a private operator.
