Faison Plans 1.2 Million SF of Retail in Atlanta

Barrow Crossing
Barrow Crossing - Winder, Georgia

ATLANTA — June 20, 2007 — The Southeast regional office of Faison is heading northeast of Atlanta to develop 1.2 million square feet of retail in two of the fastest growing counties in Georgia.  Barrow Crossing and Logan Village will push metro Atlanta’s retail horizons past the northern crescent to the emerging northeast corridor between Interstates 85 and 20 where Barrow, Gwinnett and Walton Counties are witnessing population booms and retail voids.

Faison plans to bring 550,000 square feet of quality retail and dining to the Winder, Ga. community.  The developer is currently finalizing deals with Target, Belk and Publix Super Markets to anchor Barrow Crossing, a regional power center that will also include an additional nine anchors, 75,000 square feet of small shops and five outparcels for restaurants and services.  Situated on approximately 65 acres at the intersection of State Routes 316 (University Parkway) and 81, the development offers regional access to four of the fastest-growing counties in the United States:  Barrow, Gwinnett, Oconee and Walton.  Construction is expected to begin by the end of 2007 with an opening date of spring 2009.

Faison also plans to bring 650,000 square feet of quality retail and dining amenities to Loganville, Ga.  Located on both sides of US Highway 78, the major artery connecting Gwinnett and Walton Counties, Logan Village will feature 12 anchor stores, approximately 75,000 square feet of small shops and three outparcels on 78 acres.  The power center taps a regional trade area that encompasses both Walton and Gwinnett Counties, respectively ranked as the 47th and 69th fastest growing counties in the United States.  By 2010, the trade area is expected to boast more than 100,000 residents with an average household income of almost $90,000.  Phase I of the shopping center is expected to open by late 2008 with Phase II in summer 2009.
